Hat Attack was founded by husband and wife team Bill and BJ Gedney in 1981. They saw an opportunity in the market to create a collection of hats that took their cue from the casual lifestyle collections that were newly evolving. A few years later, they launched Buji Baja, an expanded collection of accessories including handbags, belts, cold-weather knits, slippers, and cosmetic cases.
The business began in a studio apartment in Manhattan and as it expanded it outgrew each space in NYC. The company is now located in the Bronx where they occupy an 11,000 square foot factory and warehouse.
Hat Attack and Buji Baja have earned a reputation for delivering two collections each year that are classic but always hit on the season’s trends.
