Once upon a time, Joomi was a successful Makeup Artist, working on photo shoots and fashion shows in New York and Los Angeles. The charming accessories she quietly designed soon gained notoriety and filled the shelves of glam boutiques, pages of glossy magazines and heads of chic chicks. So she left her makeup brushes behind to found Joomi Joolz, a line of playful accessories and glittery T-Shirts. In 2004, after much success, Joomi sold this collection and moved to New York.
In January 2008, she created the new hair accessories and jewelry collection, Joomi NYC. What distinguishes Joomi’s designs are her original and whimsical combinations of color, print and texture. Each piece is handcrafted from the very finest of materials, including Swarovski crystals, French lace, luxe leather and unique trims from Italy and Japan.
Joomi, a free-spirited, self-taught adventuress from Seoul, is inspired by anything and everything French. One day, as the stars would have it, she met Xavier a style-savvy Industrial Designer from Paris, who worked with Philippe Starck and now partners and serves as Brand Director for JoomiNYC. Joomi and Xavier share a love of design and dream up fantastic accessories in West Chelsea with their two fashion-forward, Mini Dachsies, Lulu and Sadie. And they lived happily ever after.
